So my Friday (and long weekend) have definitely started off right! I recently received a custom order from Rebecca at Loving. Living. Small to do a cross stitch piece of her logo. I’m a huge fan of Rebecca’s blog which is focused on 1000 square foot spaces (or in my case, less). I thought the end piece was really cute, and had a blast doing it!

So if that wasn’t enough, Rebecca then ALSO featured my piece as part of her Home Office Tour over at Apartment Therapy (you can also see a mention in their market place based on her tour). As a small (very small?) business owner, any break is a huge break, and this one is my biggest, well, ever! Thank you Rebecca for totally making this cross stitcher/design bloggers weekend/week/month/year? You rock!

She’s just timeless in my opinion. I truly hope then if I ever have a little girl someday, she loves Nancy as much as I did (and of course, her sidekicks Bess and George). Kind of regretting that I didn’t keep my stash of books though! Oh well!

Absolutely in love with this DIY felt wreath, spotted over at Purl Bee (blog of Purl Soho, one of my all-time favorite NYC destinations!) I’m thinking with the white felt, and neon thread that this is a wreath that can be kept up year round! Going to try this at home, but thinking about cutting the backing down from a big square to more contoured to the wreath. Thoughts?

I’m back and roaring to go! Was actually roaring to go yesterday, but something very big (and VERY AWESOME) went down at work so I got a little distracted (and a serious case of the hypers). Loving that this post combines two of my favorite things, kitsch decor and find the bailey. staying focused as a blogger and keeping true to my aesthetic

So some of you may know I took about a month off from blogging this summer. I was just really lost and confused with what I was posting, and who I wanted to be as a blogger.

Since then, I’ve come back more engergized and inspired than ever! I made a promise to myself though to not just post any old thing (I used to make sure I had at least two posts a day, oh the trials and tribulations of a new blogger!)

Mainly:

I want to post things that I love.
Things that inspire me.
Things I want to own or decorate with.
Interiors that are 100% my aesthetic.

As a result, the past two days of posts have been a little thin/non-existent (I’ve started about 6- 7 different posts and just left them in the draft stage –> they just aren’t me!) Hoping to go back to my inspiration board and come up with some super fun stuff for you all next week!

I’m not sure if this is better than my neon obsession two weeks ago, but recently I’ve been obsessed with all things kitsch. I want a whole apartment dedicated to all things kitsch (maybe when I get my dream lakehouse i’ll decorate it in the kitsch).

Along these lines, how amazing are Leah Giberson’s prints? I’m in kitsch heaven (and yes, if you were counting, this post uses the word kitsch 6 times, that has to be a record of some sort).

In love with this Brooklyn space that I stumbled across via Flickr (my new obsession is to browse Flickr while on my elliptical machine in my apartment, Elle Woods Style). I love how bright and colorful their apartment is, and they didn’t change the paint (for those of you stuck with blah white paint, this is definitely the way to go!)

Pip and Estella is “A decor shop inspired by the lovely and eccentric aesthetic of the aging mansion, Satis House as described in the Charles Dickens novel, Great Expectations.” To me it’s a great source for vintage finds. They actually group their items into ‘Houses’ so you can either buy one item, or the entire set to decorate a whole room (I purchased a vintage caraffe and candlesticks from them that are now sitting prominently in my kitchen!)

They recently moved on to vintage linens, launching their very own ‘Vintage Via’ line (modeled after found patterns and prints). I love the idea of getting a vintage pattern without the vintage stains left by someone else!
